I filled up at GAS CITY!!! yesterday morning. Here are the stats:
Price E85: $3.60
Price 87 Octane gas: $3.99 a gallon
Gallons E85: 5.527
Gallons 87 Octane: 9.747
Gallons left from tank #12 (@~32.12%% ethanol): 1.126
I'm assuming that the E85 is 79% ethanol, 100 octane.
Ethanol content of tank #13: 34.77%%
Octane of tank #13: 93.77

I think I hit the sweet spot for my splash blend of regular unleaded and ethanol E-85 in the SAAB today.
I logged 26.7mpg on nearly a full tank of E36, which was about 90% highway miles. I did a total of 360 highway miles (and about 30 local miles) on a round trip to Springfield, Mo. from KC.KS for a job and just got in now. Some of the ride today was in full A/C.
Gauge shows 70 miles D.T.E. (distance to empty), so it's close enough to the end of the tank to declare a moral victory.
I wanted to fill up in Springfield for the ride home - regular unleaded was 40 cents cheaper a gallon there ($3.36!) but I couldn't find the ethanol station from the last time I was there, so I turned the car around and said "lets see if I can make it home".
I did indeed make it home with miles to spare! 387 miles on the tank total since yesterday's fill up, and the fill-the-gas-tank light hasn't even come on yet.
Data Tank 3 splash blend
Price E85: $3.099
Price 87 Octane gas: $3.749 a gallon
Gallons E85: 3.51
Gallons 87 Octane: 5.01
Gallons left from tank #2 (32% ethanol): 8.48
Ethanol content of tank #3 - 36.5% (if 85% ethanol)
Ethanol content of tank #3 - 33.4% (if 70% ethanol)
(Kansas Law states ethanol must be a minimum if 70% ethanol to be classified as E85, hence the two percentages above)
Sweet!

I had to laugh today- i was driving the car today and went to speed up and the turbo did not spool into the red zone- looked over at the wife and said- you filled with 90 octane did'nt you. Yes she said- forgot to use E20.
LOL- my Saab loves E20.
Alcohol
BTW- E85 is $2.789 up here in Wisconsin.
