Tank #26

I filled up at Meijer yesterday evening.

Gas was going for $1.50. E85 is still stuck at $1.99.

I chose to fill up with premium only.

I got 14.282 gallons of 93 Octane at $1.70 a gallon. My tank is now 11.69% ethanol.

I hope that Meijer lowers the E85 price soon. I see that other stations in the area are at parity.

Hey Buzz...yeah that's a crazy price. Actually the station I usually go to dropped their Shell affiliation and use their own name now. They still have the E85 at 1.99 and are selling 87 for 1.69! Funny thing is they own another station a few miles away and that E85 is only 1.70. Must be they purchased it a high price.

is there a way to extract the gasoline out, providing cheap booze alternative?

No anonymous- there is no safe or cheap way to extract out the gasoline- for one the distillation curve of gasoline starts below gas and extends well beyond ethanol. With some 100 poisionous compounds in gas to extract- you can forget that. Get a federal small producer permit and make your own- that would be easier.

Buzz- that tankful is sure lasting you a long time LOL ! E85 up here is $1.45 but the 9.3 is under a car cover for the winter. Mine is an Aero and the front air dam only sits about 3 inches off of the ground- not a winter daily driver in the snow we get up here unless one thinks a front wheel drive snow plow is effective LOL.
